Closing the refrigerator door causes the freezer door to open about an inch! It’s almost as if there is air being forced into the freezer compartment from the refrigerator causing the door to open. Can anyone help me??? This is a 2 year old side by side.
That’s exactly what’s happening. Look under the drawer in the bottom of the freezer, is there ice there?

Hey Nat:
I checked for ice underneath the bottom pull out and there isn’t any. However, there are some ice crystals on the back wall of the freezer…this could be from my daughter leaving the freezer door ajar all night. Anything else I sould check?
Here is a link that might help

Also most freezer doors have a cam on the bottom hinge which helps close it.
The door actually rides down this slight cam to keep it closed. You may want to check this.
The below is for a PSF26NGTBCC
javascript:launchURL(‘/IPCNet/Dispatcher?REQUEST=IPCNETGETPDF&file=00000000/00049900/00049976.p01.pdf’)
Do not know if the above will work as it is a javascript.
I believe it is Item 15 in Section 5 Part Number A3670206
Model PSF26NGPAWW
Thank you Denman…I’ll give this a try.

I found out what the problems was and why the freezer door popped open. There was no ice and the cam mechanism seemed fine. The problem was the bottom wire basket! Even though it was installed on it’s track, it apparently provided enough pressure against the freezer door to keep it open. I learned this by pulling it out and then trying to get it to pop open. It didn’t. The lesson learned here…CHECK THE DRAWS AND SHELFING ALIGNMENT…especially on GE Models. This frig is poorly engineered. Thanks for all of your help.
