Freezer defrost peak temperature concern

Main Symptom: high defrost peak temperature
What happens & when: Noticed temperature in freezer was close to 50f during defrost.
Freezer temperature control is set to 11 o’clock between A/warmer/9:00 and C/colder/3:00. So i have the option to try raising it. Refrigerator temperature control also set at 11 o’clock between 1/warmest/9:00 and 5/coldest/3:00.
Thermometer observed is a no-name purchased at Lowe’s, and is on the very top shelf close to the door.
The freezer is routinely 75-80% full.
My impression is i’m noticing an increase of icy particles upon opening frozen foods recently (a new bag of potato wedges, for example). i keep a cooler in my SUV and use it for frig/frozen groceries on the way home.

Hello, depending on where and how you are testing the defrost air temperature, that is not uncommon. Frost build-up can be a result of opening the door a lot or possibly an air leak either around a door gasket or mthrough the icemaker dispenser.
