I have a six year old whirlpool gold( side by side door) Refrigerator. The light inside Refrigerator side is flickering, almost no light. Light not only flickers but makes cracking noise. Temperature inisde the Refrigerator is fine. Is it control board bad?. How do I replace Control board, if that is the proble. Please advise.
I cannot find any info on the given model number, please check it.
Have you changed the bulb?
If not do this first.
Unplug the unit and remove the light bulb.
Check the bulb receptacle.
If it uses a standard appliance bulb you will see a connector at the bottom of the receptacle, This contacts the center connector on the bulb. Bend it up slightly.
Be very careful to not overdo it or you will break it off. Also be sure that it does not touch the sides (ground) of the receptacle.
Actuate the door switch manually to see if that effects the light other than just turning it on/off.
