I found the spring on my dishwasher dispenser sticking out of a hole on the dispenser door and while I can close the dispenser door, it’s obvious the spring isn’t working correctly-- no spring action:) . I believe it’s not in the correct place.
I’ve attached a jpeg photo of how I found the spring. any suggestions on how to put it back into place?
thx
PS the detergent does seem to be emptied out at the end of the cycle --(most of the time) but the door remains closed. . .

Pull the spring end out of the hole. Slide the two front guide pins down the tracks. Rotate the spring so it’s centered over the pin. Pivot the cover until it is almost closed. (The rear guide pins are not in the tracks.) Lower the spring loop over the pin. It may snap in place over the pin – reach in with the aid of a butter knife. Slide the door “more open” and you should feel the spring tension. Slide the two rear guide pins into the tracks. I think you’ll be in business.

your solution worked for me.
Thanks, I had the same problem as well. I follow your directions and it worked like a charm. Don’t you just love the internet.
Worked like a charm, now I got parts to sell to someone else. Maybe I can return them where I bought them.
Outstanding advice- worked a butterknife in to get the spring back on the peg and “presto”- I’m back in business. Thanks for the help- I really appreciate it
Took me 2 minutes.. thanks for the butter knife tip!
Worked great for me and saved a £50 call out fee! Just £4 for the parts!
Worked for me too - bit fiddly but worth the trouble to save the call out fee. Great help - thanks :)
thanks problem solved:)
