My machine “randomly” fills/drains at the same time, Erg.
About 50% of the time it runs just fine… then all of a sudden I will notice the water keeps running, and running - and it seems to be filling, but the water level just stays the same
Consider myself lucky it’s not overflowing!, Lol. But sure a pain in the butt when I’m in a hurry to get something finished. Sometime I can spin it out then it will be fine, others times I turn it off wait a few hours then it will be fine… don’t get it!
So I finally figured out the site, Lol and found this answer to a similar problem… (I Pasted it below)
I have no doubt that it is likely the correct answer for me HOWEVER my husband (who is the furthest thing from a “handyman”, Lol, I do all the construction/repairs etc) absolutely “insists” that the hose must be taped to the drain pipe He has some weird quirks, and if I untape it, he will simply tape it back the first time I leave…
Can anyone give me a response that I may be able to show him? or a solution that might help calm his fears that the washer will all of a sudden flood out the house?
"The drainpipe to your house may be too low and you either need to extend the pipe up above the top of the tub or run the drain hose from your washer up high.
Someone may have taped the drain hose from the washer to the drainpipe to your house to stop the water from backing up. To fix this either clean out the drainpipe to your house and remove the tape or install a siphon break.
If the drain hose from your washer is pushed down the drainpipe too far, this will also cause the same problem. To fix it just pull it out to within about 6 inches of the end of the drainpipe."
