F5 error code

I have a Jenn-Aire wall oven about 6 yrs old. It flashed an F5 errror code the totally quit working. The breaker was not tripped but it acts like there is no power. Any advice?

That fault code on your brand indicates a failure of the electronic control itself. :frowning:

at the time the oven quit heating i still had a clock aand light. about a half hour later i had nothing. i tried resetting the breaker but no change. the next am i reset the breaker i got clock and power back. can i trust the eoc or does the oven have an overheat sensor or such?

Not going by your description.

I don’t have access to a wiring diagram for your model to find out. At most one might prevent the elements from heating and/or shut the whole electronic control down. You said the control was still functioning when the heating stopped and also the light was working but then stopped. I wouldn’t expect a safety device to shut the lights down at all.

Maybe there’s also an intermittent problem in the appliance’s power supply? Just that shouldn’t be responsible for your original F5 fault code though. Very unusual.
