We had a recent storm with a power outage that made the power go on and off a few times but since then the washer we have in our break room (hair salon) will not work. Whirlpool says they will charge for the repair since they do not cover anything thats not in a single-family home even though I have only had the washer a month!
I have been looking up this issue and error code and it looks like it could the the CCU that needs to be replaced. I have run the diagnostic test and everything runs fine with no other codes/errors. Everytime the unit is powered on though it says on the display that the washer has error F1E1 and to contact tech support. Any advice on this? Can the CCU be repaired or will it have to be replaced, the past is listed around $150 so not exactly cheap for a “new” machine.
Sounds like the problem is a a bad CCU. Very unlikely that it can be repaired but you can search. So, the correction is to replace it. If you need the correct part number, post the end of the model number.
I also would recommend to instal a good surge protector to prevent such problems.
Thanks for the advice, I will have to look around the back of the machine for the full model number once I get the dryer off the top. A regular surge protector would help prevent this happening again in future? Our building seems to always get hit a lot during thunder storms and there are always “brown outs”.
