Exhaust fan knob

Our Modern Maid stove top gas stove is about 20 yrs old. It has 5 burner knobs and one exhaust fan knob. I cannot find the model or ser # on the unit. If you will believe this, we lost the exhaust fan knob. I have to think this is a universal style knob. It is about 1" wide and maybe about 3/4" high, black. It has a slit in the middle of the post the knob fits on. Can someone help me? Even if I have to buy 4 different ones, one of them will have to work.

It has only 4 burner knobs, not 5 as stated in the first email.

Ron,

It’s very hard to find almost any part without the proper model number. If the burners on your cooktop are open then try to lift up the top panel and look under it. If the burners are sealed then check the bottom panel from the cabinet.

If yes unfortunately it looks like that knob is obsolete.
The slit in the shaft is just to make it a little springy so it fits tight in the knob.
Measure the diameter of the shaft.
Then take this to either an electronics or appliance parts supply store.
They should be able to supply you with a knob that will fit.
Some knobs are made to take the flat one side shafts, this would be the preferred type.
Also there are knobs that take a round shaft but have an allen key that you can tighten onto the flat.

Perhaps someone else will jump in with a part number for a knob that will fit.
