have no air flow between freezer and refridge side. took inside cover off and found evap motor not running. is this a part that will normally fail.should i replace motor or is this possibly another problem causing fan not to run.

Yes fans do go bad.
If you have a meter check for 120 volts going to the fan.
If you have 120 volts and the fan does not turn it is toast.
