Estate washer will not spin

Estate washer will not spin/agitate on any cycle. It will fill with water, and drains fine on the spin cycle, but will not spin at all. The motor hums as if it is trying to work. Belt looks fine. Drum will spin by hand.

I cannot get you model number to come up, but if this is a Whirlpool made direct drive washer it does not have a belt, so I do not know what you are looking at.

Your symptoms indicate a broken motor coupling, an easy and inexpensive repair. Check out this video.

Sorry, the model number should be TAWS750PQ0.

Local repair shop wanted us to try to replace the agitator dogs first, but if that doesn’t work, we’ll try the motor coupling. Thanks!

As sidfink43 said, your washer is direct drive and it does not have any belts. The problem you described has nothing to do with the agitator dogs. Most likely the problem is a bad motor coupling. Remove the washer cabinet in inspect the motor coupling.
