For Whirlpool WOS501ECHS01, with temperature not regulating + F6E4, and the ACU already replaced, I would not replace the ACU again yet.

Whirlpool identifies F6E4 on some cooking products as a communication fault involving the user interface/control path, although I couldn’t verify a model-specific F6E4 definition for WOS501ECHS01 from Whirlpool’s public documentation.

Next checks

  1. Kill power at the breaker.
  2. Check the UI-to-ACU harness/connectors. Reseat both ends and inspect for backed-out pins, corrosion, pinched wiring, or damaged conductors.
  3. Verify incoming power and ACU connections. Since the ACU was just changed, double-check every connector is fully seated and that the replacement board is the correct part/revision.
  4. Check the oven temperature sensor and its harness. If temperature feedback is intermittent/open/shorted, investigate the sensor circuit rather than assuming the new ACU is defective.
  5. If wiring and sensor readings are good but F6E4 returns when Bake is started, the UI/control assembly becomes the stronger suspect, particularly because the ACU has already been replaced.

Whirlpool’s first-line procedure for related F6 communication/control faults is also to shut the breaker off for about 1 minute, restore power, and see whether the fault returns.

My next move: inspect/reseat and continuity-test the UI ↔ ACU communication harness before ordering another part.
