Empty washer develops an odor after a few hours of no use

Brand: whirlpool
Model Number: WTW4950HW0
Main Symptom: Water odor after a few days
What happens & when: after a few days if not used, the washer develops an odor. I assume it’s from a tiny bit of water left in the bottom of the tub. So little we can’t see any.

We are on WELL WATER. this has just started in the last month or so. We have been using the washer for about a year. Our old washer had an odor too. I just always assumed it was the well water having no chlorine in it. But since this just started with this one after a year , I’m thinking it’s a buildup of something.

Is there some sort of super cleaner I can run through it occasionally .

This is a newer top load washer.

Thanks for reading !
