As a newbie, I researched the Web to learn that my Frigidaire electric dryer is beeping and stopping due to a need to “replace electronic control” – I called a local service tech and he looked through my research, checked the dryer electronics, and said, basically, the same thing after 10 minutes. Here’s my questions:
? Is doubling the price of the new electronic control unit a reasonable price for the repair? (I’m assuming if would take < 15 minutes to replace unit) –
At what point should I just “get brave” and do the repair myself to save $$ since I’m out of work? –
Thanks for your expert advice… I’m impressed with your website!!

This one is not to hard to change. First unplug the unit, then remove the top of the machine by removing the screws on the back of it and sliding it backwards. Next you will see the screws holding the front control panel onto the unit. Remove the screws and unplug the wires from the board. If you need to, draw a diagram of how the wires are on the old board. Remove the screws from the old board and replace it with the new one. Reattach all of your wire in the correct place and reassemble your dryer. Here is your part number for the board.

Hope this helps!
According to my Dryer i have an E68 error and it is related to the dryness settings button. I have taken the whole electrical panel off and replace (Same panel) to see if this would fix the error but this did not work. It looks like i will need to replace the panel itself.
My model is a FGQB4000FS0 - Can you confirm that this is the correct panel to purchase?
