Electronic Control Assembly - Part #8530929

In April 2008 I replaced the Electronic Control Assembly on my Whirlpool Dishwasher because the dishwasher would only work on the Heavy cycle mode. Until last week, the dishwasher was working fine. Now however, the dishwasher is experiencing the same problem, where it will not work in the other cycle modes. Customer service recommended that I contact you before they ship out a replacement electronic control assembly. Are you aware of any other problem that may be causing the dishwasher to malfunction? Thanks.

Remove & reinstall the connector between the TOUCH PAD and the CONTROL a few times. If the connector is dirty it will act up!!! If not, Replace the board again!!!

Thanks, I took all the connectors off and sprayed them with contact cleaner and now the dishwasher seems to works in all cycles. Thanks again for your help.

I did exactly what you recommended. I took isopropol alcohol soaked the contact pins took a stiff but fine nylon brush that I got at Harbor Freight, got some angled needle nose small plyers and exercised the ribbon cable connector a few times and it’s working PERFECTLY. PS. I found a used electronic PC board for the unit for 40 bucks on ******** and I was ready to
buy it. Luckily I didn’t need it, now I’m wondering whether at that price if it wouldn’t be a good investment. I’m also keeping by eyes out on ******** for a Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Kenmore touch pad for that model. I’ve read that the touch pads are problematic as well. And those are a real tough thing to clean though it IS possible with this liquid conductor paste. I really apprciated the advice.
