Question: Are these two parts interchangeable if I fix one of the connections?
Brand: Electrolux
Model Number: EW30IF60ISA
Main Symptom: UIB board malfunction, E15 error code. I need help determining the difference between two UIB board part numbers and whether I can use an available part in place of a discontinued part
What happens & when: Intermittent E15 error code
Error Code (if any): E15
Parts or tests already tried: None, but I want to try to replace the UIB board to see if this fixes the problem
We’ve been having intermittent E15 error codes on our induction range. We’ve been able to get by with just cutting the power to avoid listening to the beeping and turning it back on and waiting for it to calm down. However that’s taking longer and longer. Based on my research, the UIB board is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Unfortunately the model number sticker for the range is no longer present. I have the use and care guide left by the previous owners which doesn’t have the model number written down anywhere, but it has the name of the range as “ 30” Free-Standing Wave-Touch Electric Range with Induction Cooktop.” Based on this and comparing photos, I’m pretty sure the model is EW30IF60ISA or EW30IF60ISB.
I was able to find the UIB board with part number 316576452 available for purchase. However, it says it’s not compatible with my range. When I removed the back of my range to look at the board, it looks basically identical. The biggest difference is one connection type. I’ve attached the photos of the two parts below. There’s a yellow connection at the bottom of the 316576414 board where there’s a red connection in the same place at the bottom of the 316576452 board. It does look like there may be a different resistance resistor just above that connector. Furthermore, there’s a chip on the left side of the board that is on the opposite side of the board depending on the board part number. The problem is the 316576414 part is discontinued and no longer available anywhere. The 316576452 part is available. The big question is can I use the 316576452 part and just change that one connection, or should I just be looking at buying a new range all together if there’s no replacement parts available? Thanks for your help in advance
