Where is the Sensor Temperature Part # 240597220 located in the Refrigerator?

Hi, the temperature sensor (Part #240597220), also called the thermistor, is located inside the fresh food/refrigerator compartment.

You should find it on the back wall of the refrigerator, behind a small plastic protective cover. Remove that cover and you should be able to access the sensor and its wiring.

That’s the sensor the refrigerator uses to monitor the temperature inside the fresh food section and tell the control board when it needs more or less cooling.

Hi, the temperature sensor (Part #240597220), also called the thermistor, is located inside the fresh food/refrigerator compartment.

Depending on the exact layout of your refrigerator, check these two areas:

  • Near the center support: Look on the rear interior wall, usually just to the right of the center vertical shelf support and slightly above the crisper drawers. The sensor should be behind a small plastic cover.
  • Behind the air damper tower: If you don’t see it near the crisper area, look about halfway up the back wall around the air tower/damper assembly where the cold air enters the refrigerator compartment. The sensor may be hidden behind or right next to that assembly.

Once you find the small plastic cover, remove it and you should see the thermistor and its wiring underneath.
