Electric Stovetop Cleaning

I’ve just begun using an Amana electric stovetop, and virtually immediately there are stubborn stains remaining on the “ceran” cooktop, leftover from slight, normal liquid spillage during cooking. I’ve used baking soda, but it did little good. I do not want to scratch the top. Any suggestions?

You should use the instructions from the Owners manual. The model number you posted is incorrect.

Gene.

Actually I own this cooktop and that model # is correct. I have done several searches on this website looking for it and every time it lists the chest freezers.

The mfg # is P1131577N E

and the model number is as listed.

To clean the cooktop, I put the burners on low for about 15 seconds, then use a kitchen towel soaked in WARM water - don’t use cold, the temperature change can be dangerous. Most of the time, this gets rid of the cooked-on stuff.
