This just now started:
Dryer finished its cycle and quit spinning. I went back to pull the clothes out and hear a hissing or buzzing sound. My husband commented that there was electrical interference on the TV. Control knob was in Off position. I turned the knob a little and it quit making noise, then it started hissing again in the OFF position and the interference showed up on the TV again. So we turned the circuit breakers off to the dryer.
We were kind of needing a direction as to what is wrong with our dryer. It spins, it heats, just hisses like a snake when it’s suppose to be off! Controls worn out? maybe a short?
thats better. comes up as a dryer this time. must likely culprits are timer part # AP2976148 or a ground in side the case. disconnect the ducting and the 240 plug. unscrew all the screws in the back pannel and look for burn or wires that are off. you probably wont find them but it never hurts to check. i suspect your problem is the timer. good luck and post your results here.
