E3 Error - One load

I am getting an E3 error on my Maytag washer. It seems to run up to one load and then starts in with this error consistently so it cannot finish the wash cycle. I’d done some research and most people seem to have found this problem to be anything from the motor, motor cable connection, or control board.

In order to properly diagnose this washer and not just throw a bunch of parts at it, I’d really like some feedback and a link to the Service Manual if anyone has it. I cannot seem to find the Service Manual anywhere except on a site where I have to subscribe for a year as a Service Technician. I don’t do this for a living, but I can troubleshoot electrical and mechanical items quite well if I just have some direction from the manual so I can properly diagnose the issue.

Any help out there?

Check the motor as described in the attached Tech Sheet (page 2). Make it’s moving freely.

If any of the reading is incorrect or the motor does not move freely, replace the motor.

If the motor is fine, check the wire harness between the motor and the control board.

If there is nothing wrong, replace the control board.

If you need the correct part number for the control board, post the serial number of the washer.
