Dyer no heat and timer stops at cool down

My girlfriend has a dryer that does not heat on either auto sense nor on the timed dry setting and the timer advances until it reaches the cool down air fluff region then stops advancing and runs forever. Sound like a timer?

May not be the timer.
It may be a burnt wire going to the heating element from the centrifugal switch on the tumble motor.
When the timer cycles off from heat and transfers to air (cool down) mode power to some timers come through an orange wire located on the motor side of the heating element. If the heating element is not receiving power from the centrifugal switch on the motor, then the timer won’t receive power to it timer motor to advance to the end of the cycle.
After disconnecting the power.
Check to see if the wires are burnt by accessing the back of the unit.
See the attached picture to check the wires I speak of.

It was exactly the wire from heater up to the timer. The heater measured about 12 ohm and wasn’t shorted. The terminals had a lot of corrosion and I guess it had high resistance and just over heated with time. I replaced the wire and cleaned all connections and it makes heat again and timer advances. I guess I will watch it and see how it goes.
