DV42H5200EW/A3 not heating

Brand:
Model Number: DV42H5200EW/A3 not heating
Main Symptom: no heat
What happens & when: all the time

suspect heating element, wondering what the reason would be to order the whole assembly vs the Element+Temp Sensor+Thermostat? I have not disassembled the dryer so not positive its the element, but that seems most likely. I prefer not to have it in parts in my house waiting for the right part, but not keen on spending the extra ~$100 for the sheet metal.

Suggestions?

There are some tests that can be done that would not require anything more than the terminal block and the main control being accessed. The terminal block would be accessed to test it for voltage. From the red wired terminal to the black wired terminal, there should be 240 Volts AC when the power cord is plugged in. If there is 240 Volts AC present, the next step would be unplugging the power cord, removing the top panel, and accessing the heater relay on the main control. The main control should be able to be flipped over so that the heater relay can be tested for voltage when the dryer is turned on (see attached image). The power cord can be plugged in once the control is secured like this. With a meter, test from the blue wire to the black wire on the heater relay. Once the dryer is started with a heat cycle, you should see 0 Volts AC if the main control relay is closing and if the thermistor is saying heat can be called for. However, if there is 240 Volts AC for a minute or two, this says the heater relay is not closing, which could be caused by the thermistor or the main control. This link is to a video where testing the thermistor and the main control are the first steps, making it easy to identify if the dryer needs to be disassembled any further. If it does boil down to the possibility of the heating element, thermostats, or the motor failing, the most that would need to be removed at that point would be the console and the front panel to be able to test the heating element and thermostats. The motor can be identified by the process of elimination. Having the parts on hand, and if the parts are separate or a complete assembly, would be a personal preference that varies from person to person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDGdhfSqbHk&t=1s
