Received new analog pressure sensor switch#W10156252. It is totally different inside where the wire harness goes in, compared to the original one I removed. I called and confirmed.. it is the right part that I need. It was suggested I write in here to ask how to make it fit. All the parts places say this is the right part. **************************.com has a cheaper part with a different number, that is supposed to be a replacement for W10156252 but, I read where some had to alter it to make that one fit…that is why I ordered from you, what was supposed to be the exact replacement part..so I could easily replace it. Not wanting to force the wire harness into what is obviously a different-looking recepticle I am asking for some explicit directions…Please HELP me quickly…I need to wash stuff!!! Whirlpool Duet Steam washer..model WFW9600TW00…repeatedly get SUD error at beginning of cycles…no soap in it..so no suds.
1949,
Are you sure you have supplied the correct model number ?
The analog pressure switch W10156252 / AP4323930 is the correct switch for all versions of that particular production washer.
I have contacted the Technical Department for the manufacturer, and they are not aware of any problems with attaching the wire harness to the switch.
I am not aware of any problems either, and that switch has been in use for a few years now(5 to 6 years).
Could you supply us with the numbers off of the original switch, or perhaps a picture, so we can better destinguish the part you need,
Yes I gave the correct washer model number. the area different looking, is where the wire harness clips in..the contact areas are different. Anyway, the numbers I can find on the original switch are 39.0451.111 under that is another row of numbers 461970230121.On the side another number 437072N(hard to see) Maybe the part looks and is different because they changed the design? The original ones seem to be faulty, considering the number of people having same issue in all brands and models using that switch??? You would think they would have had a recall and changed all of them or maybe a class action suit from consumers, this washer was expensive.
1949,
The numbers you supplied, Thanks very much, still indicate the same switch W10156252 .
As I mentioned in my previous post, WP Technical Services is not aware fo any problems, similar to yours, and that switch has been updated several times.
The APP research team has put a lot of time and effort in and we were able to find a different part number, W10312527,
It looks the same as the original, But you may want to give it a try.
hopefully it’ll have a different connector, and match up with your wiring harness.
If you decide to try the different part, and it does work, please let us know,
Although the connections inside are different..it did fit and the washer is now up and running again. Thank you>> It still seems that there should have been a recall on that switch with so many washers having problems with it…not too happy with Whirlpool..I hope my washer will now, work for a long time before it ever needs repair..but I wonder since there have also been alot of others having numerous issues and problems with them. ):
1949,
The important thing is, you’re up and running, you should be good for a while, you should have a the most recent updated switch.
But, drop us a line, whenever and what ever appliance needs repair,
We’re here to help.
I was hoping someone could explain to me how to attach the harness for the Power Switch (Make: WPL, Part Number: W10312527) for the Whirlpool Duet. I am not sure I am attaching the harness properly…a diagram would be helpful too…I have been getting the dreaded SUDS along with the F35 error message, so I was told to replace the switch…but I’m not sure if I am inserting the harness properly. Please help…thanks
Malcat,
There are no instructions,
But,
If you look inside the harness connection on the new water level switch,
You’ll see a fibre board assembly with Foil tracers,(chrome colored stripes).
In the wire harness connection you’ll see chrome pins inside the connector,
The chrome pins have to be lined up with the foil tracers, and the harness needs to be pressed in and seated until the harness locks onto the board, by the locking tab on the harness housing.
Good Luck,
