Dryer wrecking clothes

My frigidaire dryer is wrecking our clothes, snaps and buttons and zippers get stuck in the part where the drum meets the door. There is a big gap and the clothes get stuck and ripped apart. What parts do I need to solve this terrible problem. thanks angie

I have the GE dblr333ee0ww model and I have become very good at sewing on buttons…

I have learned to button up clothes and turn them inside out to protect them as much as possible.

Please someone help me I really need to know what parts to buy I have 7 kids and their clothes are getting ruined. Please let me know!

This is a pretty standard repair in the industry.

Reach in and find the point where your finger can trace along where the drum meets the front panel. On the bottom it is almost certainly a large gap. Now trace it all the way around but please don’t pinch your finger at the top because odds are that it’s MUCH tighter up top and you have a good 1/4" or so gap on the bottom.

I see it all the time. It means that the front basket seal and glides are worn out. You want to replace BOTH the short pad with 3 glides and the longer pad that runs all along most of the basket.

The clothes get caught in the gap below and as they drag around they get pinched on top, creasing clothes and tearing off buttons. Odds are you also see brown lines on some things like sheets… the brown is rust where the metal has rubbed off the paint and then the clothes were dragged through the rust while being pinched.

I’d honestly recommend a pro for this even though you could do it yourself. The reason for that is that the glue is a sticky, gooey mess that seems to find a way to get on things that it shouldn’t be on no matter how experienced you are with it. For a homeowner to try, you’ll end up with that glue all over the place. Almost NOTHING can clean it up… if it’s in the carpet, you have to cut the carpet. If it gets on hard surfaces the only thing I’ve found that can get it off is Mr Clean Magic Erasers but it rips them apart as you use them so you need a lot of them.

If you insist on doing it yourself, get 2 packs of magic erasers before you even start… and stay away from the carpet when you do the work.

Good luck!

Thanks you so much but do you know the part numbers that I need? thanks
