Just replaced the timer to fix the dryer, but it won’t stop running. The only way to stop the dryer is to open the door or manually turn the switch to off. What else needs to be replaced?

What was the original problem with the unit?
Could be that the push to start switch contacts are welded shut.
Disconnect it and check it with a meter.
