Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

What kind of an power surge?
Electrical storm? House wiring short? Short in the dryer? Power coming back on after an outage?

I found:
ELFE4222AW & ELFE422CAW

Please recheck your model#.

Some model# helps.

The display works but the dryer will not start?

Wish I could help more, hopefully if needed the APP team can offer some testing tips for the electronics.

ELFE4222AW. Power coming back after outage.

“Power to the front control panel but nothing happens when I press the power button”. If there is voltage reaching the user interface control but the display does not illuminate when the power button is pressed, this would indicate a failure within the user interface control. Proper voltage can be tested at the user interface by testing at the 4-wire connector from the wire at pin 1 (DC ground wire) to the wire at pin 3 (5V DC wire) and the wire at pin 4 (12V DC wire). If the voltages are present at the user interface but it does not turn on, the user interface would need to be replaced. Frigidaire 405552243 User Interface (AP7179288) - AppliancePartsPros.com

So wire 1 and wire 4 should read 12v dc ?

Wire 1 is the common ground. Wire 3 should read 5V and wire 4 should read 12V.

It was pointless/lazy to tell me which PINs to check without showing the diagram. The parts dr forum responded straight away with the diagram and which to check. the part # you listed was bad.ordered from you and was delivered in one day after paying the $11.95 additional. Amazing job on the order and delivery!! Other suppliers didn’t have this in stock.

I apologize for not including the wiring diagram. So that it may be used for future reference, I will attach it to this post. Unfortunately, the wiring schematics do not clearly notate which specific wire color would have originated as the wire at pin 1.
