I have a crosley dryer that just recently had the heat go out on it. initially i figured it was a clogged vent because i had failed to clean the filter for some time. so after cleaning the filter. i checked the thermal fuse and it does have continuity. I also checked the heating element and it also has continuity. is there anything else i need to check. i am stumped on this! HELP!
Hi,
Check for 220-240 Vac at the back of the dryer were the cord connects.
ok just to clarify that is the voltage between the red and black terminals right? if so i got a reading of 248

Yes, that is correct.
Check #9 thermal cut-off in this diagram for continuity.

The dryer motor runs, correct? Just no heat.

This is correct. the motor runs but just no heat generated. I believe this is the part (Thermal cut-off) that attaches to the bottom of the heating element? if thats the case then yes i have checked for continuity at the same time i checked the heating element for continuity. it did have continuity
The thermal cut-off is a two part kit. One part is down low by the element and the other part is on the same side, but up higher. The highest one is the one I often find open. If it is open they both need to be replaced at the same time.
Yes!! no continuitly on the upper one. meter read OL while reading OHMS. thanks so much i will order the new part
Awesome! Glad you found the problem.
Make sure to clean any lint out of the dryer vent too.
Happy Holidays
