**Brand: Kenmore
**Model Number: 1106192311
**Main Symptom: Turning the timer to any heat setting auto turns on the heating element without having pressed start button
**What happens & when: as above. i have checked the start button switch and that seems to be working fine (when i press the start button the multimeter beeps, when i let go it stops beeping). if i press the start button then the drum starts spinning and if i open the door, it stops spinning but the heating element is still on.
also checked all the fuses on the back of the unit and they seem to be working fine and door switch is also good.
Error Code (if any):
Parts or tests already tried: already replaced the timer and heating element and tested start and door switch with multimeter.

ok, watched the video and opened up the heating element and noticed that the coils were all over the place and the white rubber things that hold them in place were also broken. when i got the part from searsdirect i noticed the box was really banged up and there was no protection, just the part in a box. i will send it back and order elsewhere. really upset with this that i didn’t catch it a few days ago when it was delivered. i will report back. added some images below to show where the coils had the broken rubber part.

following up. installed new heating element and testing the continuity…no more grounding out on the element case.
the new heating element purchased from partsdr.com worked great. this item actually looks brand new, fully protected in shipment with air-pockets and overall super nice people. one thing i will say; be wary ordering from sears direct for certain products…if its something which can break in shipment, maybe try order elsewhere or ask them before purchasing that its protected. thank you all for the help.
