Dryer start switch wiring

I just replaced the thermal fuse on my neighbors Roper electric dryer successfully. I then find out that the person who tried to fix it before me insisted it was the start switch that was bad and instead of replacing it he wired it to stay on without pushing the button. I would like to put it back correctly but since this was my first time working on any appliance and I was unable to see how it was to begin with I do not know which wire is wrong and I am unable to find any additional info on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

See photo. Your model may or may not have the tan or black wire. Looks like it does since dryer does not have another buzzer on/off switch.

Eric

Thank you for your timely response. It does have a buzzer located in between the start switch and temperature control switch. I will be going over there later today to try and fix it or put it back the way it is suppose to be to work properly. Although, I did fix the problem and the dryer works(heats) and stops according to timer or by opening door I will not be satisfied with my work until it starts properly. Would have been nice if I had know it was straight wired as I call it cause since I didn’t have a meter to test fuse you can imagine my surprise when I connected jumper wire and plugged it up and it fired up..

Thank you so much! This is a great help.
