The Thermal fuse had went out. I bought a new kit and put in a new thermal fuse and the hi-limit thermostat. The dryer worked fine for half of a load then I noticed it had started to cool down and realized the timer knob wasn’t moving through it’s cycle. It stayed on the same spot. The dryer turns on fine but doesn’t get hot and timer doesn’t work now. Any suggestions would be so appreciated!!!
Hi.
You need to check the high limit thermostat and or the cycling thermostat. If any of them is open-there is a venting restriction. Check for blockage, then replace needed part.
Post the results.
If the dryer is running, and not heating, the first thing you want to check is the breaker to the dryer, to be sure it is not partially tripped. If all is well there, you need to check the heating element. If you don’t have a meter, pull the element and see if there is a break. Also, that dryer is known for not having the best lint system. Take the front off of the dryer, and then look down on the bottom of the front, and I will bet you the vent tube is totally clogged. Tom www.********************************************
