Dryer roller stuck

I put new rollers on my dryers. I cleaned the old shaft and the rollers rotated smoothly. After 2 days, the dryer was making noise and opened to check it and found that the rollers are not rotating smoothly. There was a thin layer of black stuff making the roller tight over the shaft. This time I cleaned both the inside of the roller and the shaft with brake fluid. I rotated the shaft by 180 so new surface is on top. Everything was good for a week and then the rollers got tight again. Next time I cleaned and put some dry silicone lubricant, but in a week the same result. I read here that there is no need for lubricant. Is it just bad quality rollers?

There are two styles of rollers, part number 349241T and W10314173, the heavier roller used in your model. Which rollers did you use?

I bought the 4392067RC kit. Not sure what came with it. So that is probably it. Your site sells W10314173, so I assume that is the heavier one I need.

No, you got the heavier ones, thank you. Can you see what is making the rollers stick, like anything around them that is getting them “gunked up” and unable to roll? Is it happening with all of the rollers?

Is Whirlpool.com an official site? I see that they offer only this kit 4392067RC for maintenance. Your site offers this kit and it is a lot cheaper than buying 4 rollers and the idler, but says it is not compatible with my dryer. Is this kit the right one.

That kit is the correct one, it has the correct rollers that the dryer you have uses.

Thank you, that was the correct OEM part for a reasonable price. My dryer hasn’t been this quiet for a long time. Never buying non OEM parts again. The bad roller has roughed up the shaft a little. I rotated the shaft to expose new surface on top. Hopefully this will last a while.
