My dryer is making a very loud squeaking noise when it is running. I have been told it may be the belt, or bearings, but I need to know how to take the front of the dryer off to be able to check it.
Your dryer has been designed and made by Frigidaire for Hotpoint and you can use all Frigidaire made parts as the replacement parts because they cost much less $$$. The disassembly instructions are attached to the reply.
You may want to check the front upper felt seal/glide assembly and lower seal (#1220 & #1221 on the diagram) and the rear bearing. The belt has nothing to do with any noises but it would not hurt to make sure it is not worn out at the same time you will diagnose that noise.
The upper felt seal comes with the high temperature glue which can be used to attach the lower felt seal as well. The amount of the glue in the tube is good enough for both seals.
