Dryer Not Heating

Hey, hope someone can help me. My dryer is not heating. I have tested ohm tested the thermal fuse, heater element, high limit thermostat, and the thermal cut-off. Everything there is reading continuity. Also I thought the problem was my Exhaust Thermistor but I have replaced that and still the dryer is not heating. I also know I am not really supposed to do this but I checked my heating element while the dryer was running and was getting 120 Volts to each wire going into the heating element. So I am stuck right not with a dryer I need to use that won’t heat. If anyone could help me out and tell me what else to check for I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks

Hello,

Did you remove the wires from the heating element terminals before you checked the heating element for continuity?

I figured out my problem. The guy that wire my dryer plug did not quite do it correctly. He had both of my 120v wires on the same phase in the breaker box instead of putting each 120v wire on the two different phases. I know enough that it made me feel stupid when I started checking power again and noticed I was getting 120v out of each wire coming in but 0v when I touched both of them. I went and looked at the breaker box and saw my problem. Wished I wod have caught it sooner but I have it fixed now. Thanks for the input though.

You are welcome. I’m glad to hear you were able to find and fix the problem. It is most difficult to diagnose a problem created by a human.

Happy New year!
