Dryer Not Getting Hot Enough

Initially, the dryer problem was that it would start to heat up then stop heating after a couple minutes. Following the threads here in the APPros forums, I determined that I needed to replace the Main and Secondary coils. I did this and it worked! … Well, kinda, in that the dryer does continue to heat now throughout the full cycle.

However, the dryer is not reaching the heat level it did previously. I watched as it took 3 cycles (approx 60 mins each time) to dry a normal sized load of clothes. While it heats up, it’s not getting as hot as it used to.

Do I have a thermostat problem?

Thanks in advance.

this is just a guess how about the cycling tstat only a guess

Well, that was my initial thought. I was hoping for confirmation before throwing more money (especially after just purchasing the coils) and time at it. The dryer is only 2 years old. Seems a bit odd for the thermostat to be going out.

Perhaps I didn’t do something correctly when putting it back together after replacing the coils, although the process was fairly straight-forward.
