We have replaced the tstat andthe thermal limiter twice and have cleaned all the lint out of everything inside the dryer. The dryer still feels like it is over heating. We are having to watch it so that we can stop it before it over heats so that the tstat and the thermal limiter doesn’t have to be replaced again. What else could be causing the over heating???
Could be you have a grounded element.
Depending how it is grouded it can cause high heat and the thermostats cannot control it.
Unplug the dryer and one side of the heating coil.
Measure across the coil, usually 10 to 12 ohms.
Then measure from each side of the coil to the frame.
Both shiuld be infinite ohms (open).
If not the coil is grounded.
