Brand: Electrolux Model Number: EFMG627UIW0 Main Symptom: No power to the Interface Panel What happens & when: Nothing.

Parts or tests already tried: Drum belt over heated and broke. Was installing the new belt, I had to loosen the Motor mounting bolts to fit on the pulleys and tighten up the mount bolts. I re-assembled the Dryer, powered up and hit start; the Drum was spinning but with a grinding noise. I powered down, made sure the belt was still in place, no obstructions and the Motor mounting bolts were tight. Installed the front panel went to power up and nothing. There was power to the Outlet, Motor, Main Control Board up to the Interface Board, Door Switch and Lint Sensor. I found out that the Interface Board # 530451232 was discontinued, no replacement number noted. In addition, spun the drum by hand the grinding noise was still present. any assistance with a replacement part number for the Interface Board and Grinding Noise. Thanks in advance.

Hi Seanmcg, have you checked the drum felt around the drum and door panel, the tensioner, or the blower wheel to make sure none of those parts are going bad?
For the interface panel, have you checked the wiring to make sure none of the wires are stripped, damaged, or cut? If everything looks good there, you may want to check the main control board. Look for any burned areas on the board or a burnt smell.
Unfortunately, the interface is discontinued. If it turns out to be bad, you can check with third-party vendors such as eBay to see if they have one available.

Thanks for the data sheets. While I had access to the inside of the dryer, I did a service, cleaned the drum felt, door felt, cleaned the drum wheels (lightly lubed) cleaned the motor and vacuumed up any debris. I have power to the motor, control board, up to the interface board (wiring harness connector) power to the door switch and lint sensor. I was able to spin the blower wheel with my finger, (belt was not hooked to the motor at the time) Any thoughts on the grinding noise when everything is together and I spin the drum by hand? Could that be a bad motor?
Have you checked the door panel where the drum sits, both in the front and back? I don’t think it’s the motor, but it’s possible. You’ll need to remove the panel and spin the drum by hand to see if you can determine where the noise or resistance is coming from.
