When I start my dryer it makes a squeal then turns slow and weak. I took it apart and there was a lot of stuff in the area were it blows to outside. The motor would spin fine by hand, the belt, rollers and tensioners seemed fine. After I cleaned it up and put it back together I had the same problem. I am guessing this is the motor but could it be the vent pipe stopped up? Thanks for your help.
A stopped up vent pipe should not cause this problem (but clean it out anyway cause it can cause a lot of other undesirable problems). Try turning the drum by hand with everything back together. If it it not too difficult to turn then it probably is the motor.
