Dryer Drum Felt Seal

I just purchased a new dryer felt seal from your website; part number AP4319934 (WE9M30).

I had accidently removed this from my dryer initially thinking it was lint. I have had MAJOR dryer/electrical issues at my new residence and with all the associated cost I am hesitant paying to have this measly part replaced. I received one estimated of $160 WOW for felt?

Is there any guide or instruction to replace this $6.00 part that I can refere to.

You have to remove the top and front panels.

Open the door and remove the screws secured the top panel. Lift the top panel up and remove the screw on each side holding the front panel. remove the front panel.

There are a few small clips on the dryer duct assembly that will hold the felt seal in place.

I am replacing the drop drum bearing assy plus 4 new slides. Should I replace this felt seal (it looks OK) just as preventive maintenance? Dryer is 13 years old. There was only ONE slide left with a lot of wear on the drum bearing assy part itself. Yikes. Very squeaky.

The rear bearing was replaced about 4-5 years ago, so I am not going to change it.

thx

It is a good idea to replace it.
