I ordered a new door switch for my Kenmore Series 80 dryer. The switch came and looks identical to the one it is replacing. It has three wires that slip into a plastic connector with red, blue and white leads. However, I noticed the blue wire coming out of the switch (coded blue with a paint dot) is in the middle of the three, while the blue wire in the plastic female connector is on the outside. So, the red and blue wires are not meeting (connected). Is this an error, or should it work?
The original problem is that the dryer would not start. So, I replaced the push-start button. That did not solve the problem. So now I am trying the door switch. The old one is definitely bad. Which brings me to my question, above, about the door switch wires.
Thank You for reading/responding to this. I cannot afford another $600 for a new dryer.
