I am installing new balance link and need help with the path of the string. If I run it through the pulley once it seems like the string & spring combination is too long. (I am reusing the existing spring.) Unfortunately both sides need replacing so I don’t have an example to work from.
Thanks
Take a look at my blog post Noisy Door on Kitchenaid Dishwasher and see if the photo gives you the help you need. If not, I have others.
Brian, Thanks for the info. I do have the string running through the pulleys correctly, but if I just make the “S” through the pulleys the string seems too long. I have tried putting the spring in the furthest back position but it doesn’t seem to get tension until the door is fully open…Any suggestions??
Thanks.
the spring doesnt hook on the place where you think it would, it hooks on to the round hole past the area where normally they would hook, it for stainless steel doors.
Like beentheragain said, the spring connects to the frame upright at the rear of the tub behind the rear roller. There should be some tension when connected, but not much.
That solved my issue.
Thanks for the help.
Glad we could help.
