thanks I will take out the board and take a visual at the solder on the board.

Using the tech sheet and a multimeter, follow the action for fault codes E8 & E9. Then run test T04 in the service test mode.

Hi Thanks for your help

the dryer is fixed, the cause is not clear, I have an idea, i would like to run by someone with knowledge of dryers.

Let’s assume ( I have not done neither i will attempt this to be clear, it’s just to figure something out)

Assume I only have one power line for my electric dryer, assume i have all the proper amps on the fuse and wires, and then splice my wire and feed it into both L1 and L2 going into the dryer

Would the dryer work?

My thought is no, since L1 and L2 into the dryer have the same 'Phase" and if the electronics on the board check the voltage between L1 and L2 it would be always 0 , ( I belive a proper feed with different inputs on L1 L2 would show some voltage)

The reason I am throwing this out is after replacing the circuit board myself, checking fuses and for power going into the dryer on L1 and L2 measuring to Ground. then called a repair man who did a lot of checking also confirmed all power, we thought it could be the front control board which i than ordered

here comes the kicker now, before that board arrived we found out that in the manufactured home park we live, a bunch of neighbors had similar issues with a dryer and air conditioner (which would take 2 power lines as well) and that after a power outage there was a temporarily fix done, and sure enough after the real fix was done, dryer and a/c were working without anything else done at the houses

(some had their a/c checked by service ppl before the real fix was done)

So my overall assumption is that the temporarily repair was somehow at a distribution box in the park they put one hot line from the power company and feed them into the same 2 lines going into my house. but since the “phase” of the a/c current was the same the dryer thought maybe the switch was open (which had been checked several times as well) All the other appliances at the house worked, since they only have one hot line going to them

thanks for your thoughts

Chris

The dryer would not work properly if both L1 and L2 are from the same line.
Easy check with a multimeter L1 to L2 = 240VAC then L1 to N and L2 to N = 120Vac
Anything else call an electrician.

thank you that is what i thought

Thanks for getting back to me.

They did feed us basically the same line on both lines going into the house
