If you press the door in firmly and hold it there while trying to start a wash cycle, does it continue to fail? If it does, the door lock can be tested to see what might be happening. If you access the main control, there should be a 3-wire connection at the connector J513. It should have a brown wire, a red wire, and a blue wire. With the power cord unplugged, and the wire connection disconnected from the main control, a resistance test can be done if a multimeter is available. With the door closed, the red wire and the blue wire should measure around 120 Ohms when tested together. The red wire to brown wire, and the blue wire to brown wire, should measure open or no continuity. When the door is open, all of the wire combinations should measure open or no continuity. Does the door lock measure differently?
That should be within tolerance since most resistances allow for a 10% variance on AC voltage windings. Did the other test combinations read properly? If they did, it is very likely that the main control is the issue. WH22X38697 Washer Main Control Board | Genuine Ge OEM In Stock
