When I turn the dial on the front to select the cook mode, some lights on the display come on but they are not legible. The unit beeps when it scrolls through the modes, but none of the buttons work. I have checked all of the connections to the boards and the front panel, and I checked the input voltage.
Any ideas?
There are no specific troubleshooting instructions provided by Whirlpool for such situation. So I’m doing what I never liked to do - guessing.
Based in my experience, very likely the problem is a bad selector board (#7 at the diagram). If it would not fix the problem, you can easy return the part to APP.

I’m not sure if I need a part or a new microwave. The plastic cover inside the microwave on the roof, its white plastic, it caught on fire, its burned, black, and warped. Can it be replaced, or the whole thing needs to go?
