Dishwasher won't start on "normal wash" when start/cancel button pressed

Main Symptom:Cant start on Normal Wash
What happens & when:When I select Normal Wash on the Wash Type Dial and then press Start/Cancel, the appliance will not start. If I shift the dial a teeny bit to the right or left, hold it, and then press Start/Cancel the machine will operate. Parts displays online suggest there is a control panel and some type of insert on the door where the press buttons are. Which one do I need to obtain to fix this problem, and could you give me part numbers. ( i have tried a few times with dial settings other than normal wash and those seem to work ok)
