Dishwasher wont drain

my dishwasher fills up runs then drains. it fills up again runs then drains. on the last fill up it runs but does not drain. I replaced the valve body gasket because the flapper was worn out. I’m also replacing the pump impeller because it was leaking. what else do i need to check.

I would also check the piston & nut assembly (#564 on the break down diagram).

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE dishwasher Model GSD5130D00WW

Gene.
I already pulled the piston and nut assembly out and cleaned it up, it was frozen in the up position it seems to working now. While i was researching this problem i read something about a timer, i have a friend that can test it for me, but i can’t find it on any of the diagrams. I need to know where it is and if this could be part of the problem:)

There is no regular timer in your dishwasher. All cycles operated by the control board (#905 on the break down diagram) and the sequence switch (#904 on the break down diagram).

When I recommended to check the piston & nut, I meant to check the cone part of it. When it is in the upper position the hole must be completely closed.

Check if any of the status lights on the left side of the control panel are blinking at the end of the cycle.

Post the results.

Gene.
I replaced the piston and nut and the pump seal and impeller and its doing the same thing it drains at the beginning of the wash but not at the end the motor is running, you can hear the impeller spinning. there’s like a click then it sounds like something else kicks on then it drains except at the end. there are no blinking lights at the end of the cycle. could my pump be going bad or is it something else

Remove the bottom panel and check if the drain solenoid (on the left side of the main pump) engaged properly at the last drain.

Gene.
solenoid is working plunger goes down every time

It is very possible there is a foreign object inside the drain hose which is floating back and forth. Disconnect the drain hose from the air gap (if there is any) or from the garbage disposer, put this end of the hose in a bucket and run the drain cycle.

Also make sure the drain hose is not kinked and/or twisted.

Gene.
i disconnected the hose and drained it into a bucket. it drained all but the last cycle. the solenoid went down the motor was running. but i never heard the pump kick on, like the other 4 times.

Looks like the sequence switch gone bad.

Gene.
replaced the switch its still doing the same thing is there any thing else to check, like the wire housing could those be dirty or bad.

Mak,

It looks mysterious. We’ve tried everything and I do not know what else to check. Probably you have to call a certified tech to check the dishwasher.
