Did you check the hi-limit thermostat?
If you do not own a meter, I would suggest you purchase a one. You can get a decent digital multimeter for under $20.00. You do not need fancy though it is nice if the leads are a couple feet long.
If it saves ordering one unnecessary part it has paid for itself and you end up owning a useful tool.
Most places will not let you return electrical parts so if you order it, you own it.
A couple things to watch when measuring ohms and continuity
There is a good STICKY at the start of this forum about it’s use.
No I have not checked that. Can you provide the part number for the hi limit thermostat? Is it the one under the tub? There is also something called a thermister.
Will appliance parts pro allow me to return the heating element I just ordered? That was not the problem.

Yes

It measures the temperature. I am not sure whet it’s resistance should be.
Perhaps someone lse can provide that info.

I do not know.
But I would get a meter so you can check parts before ordering them.
