Our control panel on our undercounter kitchenaid is malfunctioning. Only normal lights up and cancel. When you hit normal then start -nothing. If you hit cancel it cycles out just fine. I flipped the circuit breaker opened the control panel and cleaned the contacts. Tried it again and tested each button and each lit up. Tried normal mode and start and it started and I canceled. Loaded it that night and hit normal and start and normal lights up but no start. Once again the only lights functioning will be normal and cancel. Is it the “touch panel” itself or the control board (the brain)? thanks ,Corylus
There are several of us with the same type of problem. Look at some of the other Kitchenaid KUD posts for a tech sheet and troubleshooting instructions. I have the same basic problem and I thought it was the control board. But, after inspecting the ribbon cable between the panel and board and finding some corrosion and performing a short cycle test where all the cycles worked I am going to replace the panel. I’ll know next week if I was right.
