Dishwasher hums, but nothing else happen

Hello,
I have a whirlpool quiet partner I , model number DU915PWKS0 , that hums only but nothing else happens, no water , no cycling. it works great before. I remember one day turning the water supply nub off temporarily and i did turn it back open later, so i am not sure if somebody did try to run it for a long time without the water while i am away. Could this have damaged or burn something in there?
pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas help.
Of course my wife just wanted me to replace the whole thing with a new one. I save $300 last year by just replacing a switch ($12.00) , in my microwave with help on this site. Thank you soooooooooooooooooo much.

ISH,

That’s where I would start, the fill valve

Based on your information,

You may have burnt out the fill valve, but most likely, you have a clogged fill valve screen filter, due to debris in the pipe that was built up in the pipe.

Good Luck,

thanks Joe,
i will go and check the pipes right away.

ISH,

Go to all the faucets and remove the areator screens from the spout(s) and run the water(both hot and cold) for a couple of minutes, or until the water is clear.

Especially the kitchen faucet, then replace the fill valve.
