the top water spray spinner has come off repeatedly. The dishwasher has not cleaned well and has gotten worse and now it does not fully dry the dishes.
The upper wash arm (you called it “top water spray spinner”) has to be replaced.
Do you see a white stuff, built up inside the dishwasher? If you do then the problem is a calcium (from hard water) accumulated inside the dishwasher. If this is truth then I would recommend to use Dishwasher Magic to clean it up. Also make sure all holes in wash/spray arms are open.
