I have a 25+ year old Coronado 10.6 cubic foot frost-free refrigerator. I would like to disable the frost-free feature. I have been unable to find a way to do that. Any ideas? The only number I see is part number 044-4108.

Why would you want to disable defrost?
The unit will only run OK for a day or if you are lucky and do not open the doors often a week. Then the temperaure in the unit will rise.
Why would the temperature rise? I want to disable the defrost to use less electricity. It seems counter-productive to have a heater on a refrigerator.

I won’t make any difference how much electricity it saves. The defrost heater uses essentially nothing.
The evaporator coils will frost/ice over to the point that the fan cannot pull air through them. Then the air cannot cool properly and the freezer temperature rises.
Also once the coils are iced over the compressor will run all the time so de-icing (defrost) the coils actually saves energy.
by keeping the defrost feature on it will also save the life of your machine.
Plus it only uses more electricity when your machine needs to be defrosted, which is not very often, thus it is not on all the time, or at least as often as you think it might be.
Interesting question.
On kind of a tangent, pictured below is a circa 1970 Monkey Wards frost-free upright freezer I got for free- it had a broken, radiant type defrost heater.
I converted it to a 45 degF fridge for storing beer, fruit, veggies and such. The key change was to wire the evaporator fan so it runs constantly and keeps the evaporator defrosted. The 45 degF setting (via a home-brewed thermostat) and opening the door only 1-2 times a day on average has kept the compressor happy- knocking on wood, it’s been running for about 11 years after the hack.
