HI everyone. The microwave in my advantium stopped heating. Upon inspection I removed the diode and discovered it read open with my ohm meter in both directions. I am a liscenced electrician so I know how to discharge the capacitor. My problem is the new diode WB27X10330 reads the same as the one I was replacing. Do I have a bad replacement diode or am I missing something here. Thanks in advance.
Forget about testing the diode with an ohm meter.
You need to test it with a 6-12V battery.
Touch one end of the diode to one terminal of the battery.
Hook up one of the leads of the Volt meter to the other end of the diode.
Hook up the other lead of the voltmeter to the other batt terminal.
read the voltmeter.
Then reverse diode to face the opposite direction
You will read voltage one way through the diode & none the other way if it’s good.
